There were reports that Nandamuri Balakrishna and Manchu Vishnu would collaborate and share screen space for the Telugu remake of Malayalam super hit Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
While Sithara Entertainments is very keen to remake this critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful movie in Telugu, the producers are toying with the idea of Nandamuri Balayya for the role of Ayyappan which was originally played by Biju Menon who was seen as a sub-inspector.
However, due to the ongoing Corona outbreak and subsequent lockdown, the talks haven't move forward. The talks are in nascent phase and Balayya is yet to watch the original movie and give his consent to be part of the Telugu remake. Meanwhile, rumours were rife that the production house has approached Vishnu Manchu for the other role i.e Koshy Kurien played by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
But sources close to producers have rubbished the rumours and stated that they are baseless. The producers maintained that the idea to remake the movie in Telugu is on but the cast is yet to be finalized. The movie is said to be very interesting which was liked by both critics and audience alike.
Since the movie has got contemporary socio-political situations, the makers are confident that this would also be appealing to Telugu audience. Given that films like Drishyam, Premam have worked, Naga Vamsi is hoping that Ayyappanum Koshiyum would also work. Let's wait and see.
Once the Corona epidemic ends and government lifts the lockdown, more clarity would come about the cast of this movie. As of now, the move to remake this film in Telugu is promising idea for sure.
