Apparently, the makers of Andhadhun’s Telugu remake have roped in Priyanka to reprise Radhika Apte’s role in the Telugu version. However, an official announcement is awaited in this regard. Ramya Krishna is said to be in talks to reprise Tabu’s role.

Movie lovers across the country are heartbroken with the untimely demise of two of Bollywood’s most popular actors, Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, back-to-back due to cancer. While Irrfan breathed his last yesterday, Rishi Kapoor has left this world earlier today.

Tollywood star NTR took to Twitter and expressed his shock over the sudden passing of both the legendary actors. Tarak said that it’s heartbreaking to lose the supremely talented Irrfan and the legendary Rishi Kapoor and described their demise as a devastating loss for Indian Cinema.

Bollywood Top Hero Rishi Kapoor No More

Bollywood legendary hero Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai on 29th of April. He is 67 and is survived by wife Neetu Singh (actress), a daughter and the son Ranbir Kapoor (actor). This legendary actor has been suffering from the chronic cancer for quite some time. 

Rishi Kapoor was the second son of legendary hero and filmmaker Raj Kapoor and the grandson of of another legendary filmmaker Prithviraj Kapoor. 

Rishi Kapoor made his acting debut as a child artist in Shree 420 while he was first seen as a hero in blockbuster film Bobby released in 1973. Rishi Kapoor appeared last on sceen in 2019 with the film 'The Body'.

Rishi Kapoor had many blockbusters and super hits in his career such as Bobby, Amar Akbar Anthony, Phool Khile Hein Gulshan Gulshan, Sargam, Chandini and many others. Over a span of 27 years between 1973 and 2000, he enacted 92 romantic films thus proved his mettle as a romantic hero.

Rishi Kapoor received the national award for his child artist role in Mera Naam Joker while he was the recipient of Filmfare's best actor award in 1974 for Bobby. Further, he was honoured with Filmfare Life Time Achievement Award in 2008.

Rishi Kapoor's demise is an irrecoverable loss to the world of cinema. Cinejosh is deeply saddened with the legendary hero's demise. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the members of his family. May his soul rest in peace!

Oscars Changing Eligibility Criteria, Thanks To COVID-19

Despite opposition from some members, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the body that doles out golden statuettes every years, has approved a rule change that will make made-for-streaming movies eligible to win Oscar awards. But there’s a caveat: digital-only movies will be considered only for the current awards year.

With most of the world under lockdown owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, theatres in Los Angeles and elsewhere have been forced to remain closed, leading many producers to question the Academy’s insistence on movies being shown on the big screen for at least a week to qualify for the Oscars.

This overture to streaming platforms, however, should not be construed as the Academy changing its eligibility criteria altogether. Academy members David Rubin and Dawn Hudson reiterated that there was “no greater way” to experience movies than at a theatre, and that his ad-hoc move was meant to support “members and colleagues during this time of uncertainty.”

Ram Creates South India Record

Much to everyone's surprise and amusement, energetic star Ram has created a rare feat on Youtube. Ram has emerged the only hero in South India to have got four films that surpassed 100 million views each on Youtube. 

Ram's latest film iSmart Shankar and previous films Vunnadi Okate Zindagi, Hello Guru Prema Kosame and Nenu Sailaja have joined 100 million views club.

As we know, Ram's iSmart Shankar, directed by maverick director Puri Jagannadh, stood as a huge hit at the box office. Currently, Ram is working for a thriller under Kishore Tirumala's direction. Sri Sravanthi Movies is the production house.

Irrfan Khan passes away

Actor Irrfan Khan, who was suffering from a rare form of brain cancer, succumbed to the deadly disease. He breathed his last at the intensive care unit of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where he was admitted two days ago with a colon infection.

Irrfan was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor in Feb 2018 and since then he had been fighting against it. He took treatment in London but was not fruitful. 53-year-old Irrfan was survived by wife Sutapa Sikdar and children Babil and Ayan.

Besides his extensive work in Hindi cinema, he acted in British films and Hollywood films. He had received numerous awards including National Film Award and Filmfare Awards. In 2011, he received Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of arts.

He had worked in the Academy Award-winning films Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi and several other international films such as Jurassic World, Inferno, New York, I Love You, The Warrior, The Namesake, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Darjeeling Limited.

Buzz: Trivikram Is Re-Writing The Whole Of #NTR30

It has come out long back that Trivikram has already completed the total script of his next film which has Jr NTR in the lead. And then, a title poster of this film is expected on the eve of Tarak’s birthday on May 20th. Amidst rumours that the film, titled ‘Ayinanu Poyiravale Hastinaku’ is set for shooting post lockdown, here comes a mega buzz.

Apparently Tarak needs huge time now to come and join this film as #RRR will be completed only by the end of the year in the present scenario. While Rajamouli needs to finish 20% of the film’s shoot, carving that small part is a daunting task now as getting actors from other countries, erecting sets and handling VFX work is no easy post the lockdown. For that reason, Trivikram has a minimum of 6 months in hand to do pre-production.

The director is said to have felt that he has been carving the same formulaic stuff all the time, and he wants to give a new spin to the film by re-writing almost 50% of the scenes. Already his associates are entrusted with the job of coming up with new ideas for certain sequences in their political thriller which is being narrated from a family backdrop.

Anyway, Tarak’s fans are waiting for May 20th to get the update about #NTR30, while #RRR has already disappointed them.

A few days ago, we had reported that Mega Powerstar Ram Charan is interested to give a chance to the young slot of directors after his ongoing film, RRR. News is also that a few new directors are also in the race to direct Charan.

Meanwhile, a few months back news came out that Yevadu director Vamshi Paidipally had met Charan and narrated him a storyline but later there is more development regarding the news. Now, again the buzz circulating social media is that Charan’s next project is locked with Vamshi Paidipally and an official announcement regarding the same will be out soon.

Rumor : Mahesh asked Parasuram for new story?

There has been back and forth over Mahesh’s next for a while. After Sarileru Neekevvaru hasn’t turned out as expected, Mahesh is so keen on his next and doesn’t want to compromise on script like Sarileru where it was all done and shot in a very short time.

Now Mahesh has decided to give enough time to the director of his next. While Vamshi Paidipally was given a lot of time, he couldn’t come up with a convincing script which made Mahesh walk out of the project. And Mahesh has opted for Geetha Govindam director Parasuram.

While Parasuram had narrated a story with the aid of director Koratala Siva, Mahesh has given his go ahead. But unexpectedly, Corona Virus spread and lockdown have changed a lot of things. Whilst the initial story has significant portion set up in the United States, considering the prevailing conditions shooting a film in the US wouldn’t be reality for next 6 months to 1 year at least.

Meanwhile, Mahesh has asked Parasuram for a new story. He said to have asked Parasuram to come up with a matured love story. It’s been very longtime Mahesh did a pure love story. Whilst his previous films were message oriented, his last film Sarileru was a commercial potboiler.

So, Mahesh has decided to do a matured love story. This is indeed interesting. And Parasuram has given the task. With the existing lockdown, Parasuram may easily come up with such nice love story laced with feel good factor. Gopi Sundar has been roped in to compose music for the film who is doing for the first time with Mahesh.

Rowdy is back with Mythri

Finally, it looks like hero Vijay Devarakonda’s next film and the producer of the film are locked after lots of consultations and meetings. It’s no easy to escape from a producer and do other films these days as economic losses are being considered very seriously by Producers Council in Tollywood. And that made Vijay change his next film’s producer.

Actually Vijay is going ahead with director Siva Nirvana’s movie under Dil Raju’s production after her wraps Puri Jagan’s Fighter.

But then, there is Mythri Movie Makers in between from whom Vijay has not only taken a huge chunk of remuneration but also they have spent almost 5 crores on the now stopped “Hero” movie. As this producer is said to have pressed hard that Vijay should do a film for them first, finally Dil Raju has given up they say.

Now, Vijay’s next under Siva Nirvana’s direction will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers while Dil Raju will be doing another project with this actor. Maybe if his Hindi debut film works, then Dil Raju might be partnering with the producer of Vijay’s next Hindi film as a producer of the Telugu version.

Megastar Wants No Questions on Acharya

Chiranjeevi is at the center of attraction as he initiated the Corona Crisis Charity to help the poor and needy of the Telugu film fraternity. While many media houses are eager to interview Chiranjeevi as he is the most happening in Tollywood, the Mega Star said to have his own concerns. It’s said that the actor doesn’t want to take any questions on his ongoing film Acharya being helmed by Korata Siva.

Even when some reputed media houses have asked some questions about Acharya, Chiru has taken it in his stride and smartly avoiding answering to the questions on Acharya by saying, “Wait and watch”.

Director Teja Enrolls In WHO Course On Viruses

Popular director Teja is known for his compassion and honest talks as he speaks about societal issues. Though he too huge time to re-invent himself as a filmmaker, it didn’t take much time for him to adjust to lockdown and do something that would better his life. The director enrolled himself in a course from the World Health Organisation to learn about viruses.

Teja revealed that he joined an online course from WHO which deals with emerging respiratory diseases. Also, he would be doing lots of research related to coronavirus by learning more about it through the papers kept online. At the end of the course, Teja will be taking an online test to get a grade, and then he is willing to volunteer for WHO if they want him to do so.

While Teja maintains that this course will help him create awareness in the society about the pandemics and how could they affect lives, some say that maybe he is doing the course as a bit of research for his next project. Maybe Teja wants to do something like that of a “Contagion” in Telugu very soon, they say.

On the films front, Teja has Gopichand’s Alimelumanga Venkataramana and Rana’s Rakshasa Rajyamlo Ravanasurudu in the pipeline, while he has also bounced ‘Article 370’ to Amitab Bachhan sometime back. After normalcy gets restored in the country, maybe the director will start shooting one among these first.

Upendra reveals why he isn’t signing Telugu movies after S/o Satyamurthy

Sandalwood top star Upendra’s last straight Telugu film was Allu Arjun’s 2015 family entertainer, Son of Satyamurthy. However, despite reclaiming his lost glory with the film’s success, Upendra has not acted in a single straight Telugu flick ever since.

In a latest interview, Upendra revealed why he is not signing any Telugu projects. “I loved acting in Son of Satyamurthy. My character had a lot of prominence in the story. I am waiting for the right script to make a comeback in Tollywood. However, almost all the filmmakers are approaching me for villain roles. That’s why I am in dual minds. I am currently playing a crucial role in Boxer, though” Upendra said.

Confirmed: A crazy sequel on the cards

Released in July, 2018, a low budget film, titled RX100, went on to become a huge blockbuster. This intense romantic action drama also made its lead cast Karthikeya and Payal Rajput overnight stars, while its director Ajay Bhupathi became the talk of the industry.

Now, in a latest live chat with his followers on Instagram, Ajay Bhupathi confirmed a sequel to RX 100. He said that he has already finalized the plot for the sequel and that he will work on the project after he wraps up his long delayed action drama, Maha Samudram. Bheeshma is streaming, gets a good response

Nithin and Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Bheeshma’ which ran successfully in theaters is now streaming on digital platforms. The romantic comedy is now trending on social media as it hit the OTT platforms. The entertainer is now available on SunNXT and Netflix.

Vijay Deverakonda Be The Real Man Challenge

Vijay Deverakonda already told that his mom won’t allow him to do household chores as she feels he will only double her work. Instead, he promised director Koratala Siva who promoted him ‘Be The Real Man’ challenge to come up with a video to show a glimpse of his day in lockdown.

Today, Vijay Deverakonda posted a video of bits of his day in lockdown that was documented by his younger brother Anand Deverakonda. The clock in the beginning shows Vijay’s wake up time as 11:45. He clarified here that he used to sleep 6 hours a day before lockdown since 2015 and his average sleep per day now is 9 and half hours.

Vijay advised to reuse wine and other alcohol bottles as water bottles. He is seen filling water bottles and keeping them in refrigerator. He then advised to drink at least one litre of water every day in the morning.

Vijay also prepared a mango ice cream for his family. After playing a video game, Vijay served the ice cream to his mom and brother.

“It’s not a crisis when you are with the people who love me most on the planet. Thinking and praying for all those who are not. Help each other out by keeping your belongings clean and by staying cheerful. Be a good son, good husband, good father, be a real man,” reads last message of Vijay.

The video is lengthy among all the Be The Real Man challenge videos. But, it somehow different from others. Vijay nominated Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan to take up the challenge.

Raashi Khanna is learning these two skills in lockdown

That young actress Raashi Khanna is a decent performer and a good singer is a well known fact. But this lockdown, Raashi has been busy acquiring two more new skills to fire up her armour for her future projects.

Raashi revealed in a latest media interaction that she has been taking online guitar classes and is determined to master the instrument before the lockdown ends. The gorgeous beauty went on to reveale that she is also learning Tamil language to give her best for all her future Tamil projects.

Power Star almost confirmed for Dussehra?

Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab is almost complete except for a small and last schedule. Once this is done post the lockdown, the film will be completed.

The talk now is that Dil Raju is planning a Dussehra release as we speak. Initially, the film was planned for an August release but things have now changed again becuase of the lockdown.

Jersey director is enjoying working on his Bollywood debut

After winning both critical acclaim and commercial success for Jersey, talented Tollywood director Gowtam Thinnanuri is currently helming the film’s Hindi remake. Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor reprises Nani’s role in the movie.

In a latest interview Gowtam said that he is thoroughly enjoying working on Jersey’s Hindi version. Gowtam further said that Shahid liked Jersey very much and that he is giving his career’s best performance in the remake.

Jersey is a sports drama based on cricket and it also features Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. Tollywood producers Allu Aravind and Dil Raju are bankrolling this film along with Aman Gill.

Puri Jagannadh takes a tough call on Fighter?

Puri Jagannadh has been working hard on his 37th film, Fighter, for the last few months. Puri is leaving no stone unturned since he film is a pan-India project, involving Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandey and even the hotshot Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar.

Fighter is predominantly set in Mumbai. A major portion of the film’s shoot took place in the maximum city, until the lockdown abruptly halted the production formalities. Bombay has been worst hit by the pandemic than any other Indian cities. And this made Puri unsure about continuing Fighter’s shoot in Mumbai in the coming months.

Apparently, Puri is now planning to recreate Mumbai at a studio in Hyderabad. The set construction work will begin soon after the lockdown gets lifted. More updates will follow in the coming weeks.

In a latest interview with an English daily, Naveen listed out several Bollywood filmmakers he wants to work with. Apart from his Chichchore director Nitesh Tiwari, Naveen also wants to act under the direction of noted filmmakers such as Rajkumar Hirani, Zoya Akhtar, Shoojit Sircar, Juhi Chaturvedi, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and out very own Rajamouli. “I want to work with people who spend a lot of time writing their script,” Naveen said.

Naveen is currently acting in a comedy film ‘Jaati Ratnalu’, which is being produced by Mahanati director Nag Ashwin.

Complaint lodged against Kangana Ranaut?

A  few days back, Kangana Ranaut was in the news when she openly supported her sister Rangoli Chandel for making some controversial statements on the Twitter post which her sister’s ID was blocked.

In a video, Kangana supported her act and this did not go well with many. So as per reports, a complaint has been filed by advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, a resident of Mumbai.

In his complaint he says one sister has called for killings and violence, the other sister has come out in support of her and this is not good and should be punished. We need to see what will happen next.
