Popular streaming platform Netflix has forayed into the world of Telugu content. The streaming platform announced a new original titled Pitta Kathalu, an official remake of Lust Stories. Four directors Tharun Bhascker, Nandini Reddy, Nag Ashwin, and Sankalp Reddy joined hands to bring this original to Telugu.

The officials at Netflix promoted the film with an announcement yesterday. Today, they launched the teaser. Aha Video has come up with a counter to Netflix's promotion strategy.

Netflix wanted to grab the attention of all Telugu audiences before coming up with the teaser.

Aha streaming platform has now given a counter saying their platform streams a lot of originals but they aren't seeking any attention. It all went in a funny manner but no one from Netflix replied to it.

Post ‘Acharya’ Megastar Chiranjeevi will be featuring in the Telugu remake of Malayalam movie ‘Lucifer.’ Days after confirming the director, this film went for a formal launch today.

Producer NV Prasad who will be bankrolling this movie, took to his Twitter handle and shared pictures of the launch ceremony.

Producers RB Chowdary, Allu Aravind, Mega brother Naga Babu, music composer Thaman, director Mohan Raja and others have graced the launch event.

The regular shooting of this untitled flick will commence from next month.

Ajith Secretly Helps Hyderabadi Idli Vendor

‘Thala’ Ajit has allegedly helped an Idli seller from Hyderabad. News reports said that Ajith, who was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Valimai’ in Hyderabad, witnessed the struggle of a roadside idli seller. Ajit reportedly saw her several times during her odd hours of shooting and recognized her hard work.

 

Apparently, Ajith tasted idli at this seller through his associates. Late in the night after shooting Valimai at the RFC, Ajith received an idli from the vendor. It is said that they like the taste and quality of idli which is offered at a reasonable rate. According to reports, Ajit met this road side vendor in person.

 

Meanwhile, when Ajith completed Valimai’s program in Hyderabad, he inquired about the seller’s financial condition and problems. Knowing the problems faced by the seller for his child’s education, Ajit secretly helped the seller with Rs 1 lakh. This news has surfaced of late and it is now going viral. Fans of Thala Ajit are sharing it widely. Ajit is often noted for his lenient acts. His task of helping the family of an idli seller in Hyderabad for his child’s education is definitely winning the internet.

Ram Charan Joins Acharya Shoot

Finally, Mega Powerstar Ram Charan entered the shoot of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Acharya’. Directed by Koratala Siva, Kajal Aggarwal is the leading lady and Manisharma is composing the music for this High Voltage Action Entertainer.

Ram Charan will shoot the talkie part in the first schedule and the other details will be out very soon. A huge set worth of 25 cr has been erected in the outskirts of Hyderabad and the majority of the talkie part will be completed over there.

Ram Charan himself is producing ‘Acharya’ along with Niranjan Reddy and the makers are aiming for Summer 2021 release.

The 37 years old shared her experience of her own beauty product brand ‘Kay by Katrina’ and how she built it. “I think how you are, inherently shapes you as an actor. How you see life, what you understand of it, what you practice also adds to it,” stated Katrina on ‘Kay By Katrina.’

Katrina will be next seen in ‘Soorya Vanshi’ opposite Akshay Kumar. The film has wrapped up shooting and is slated for release later this year.

Dream Projects That Didn’t Take Off

When it comes to grandeur and telling stories larger-than-life, Telugu directors do get place in the front row. Telugu directors are known for churning out big projects and giving that cinematic experience to movie lovers. However, several ambitious projects of these star directors which require ensemble star cast and big budgets have not taken off yet for various reasons. Here are a few dream projects of prominent directors.

Rajamouli – Mahabharath

Rajamouli, who is known for grand canvas films such as Baahubali and RRR, is still not sure about when his dream project Mahabharath will take off. Rajamouli on many occasions admitted that Mahabharath has been his ambitious project and he aspires to make it a pan India film with a stellar cast. And Jakkanna’s dream is still distant and long way to go.

Trivikram Srinivas – Kobali

Trivikram Srinivas is the most sought-after director as he scored industry blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Trivikram’s dream project Kobali has been on hold from longtime. While the exact reasons are not known, the film hasn’t hit the floors. It was buzzed that Trivikram had planned this big-budgeted film keeping Pawan Kalyan in mind and Pawan’s entry into politics has put off the project. Now that Pawan has returned to movies, Trivikram has plans to revive Kobali. However, Pawan’s previous commitments and big line-up of projects and Trivikram’s commitments with NTR and Mahesh Babu are hampeing Kobali.

Puri Jagannadh – Jana Gana Mana

Puri Jagannadh is famous for wrapping his films at blitzkrieg speed. He is known for controlling the budget and delivering the film on time. Yet his ambitious patriotic dream film Jana Gana Mana hasn’t taken off. While Puri had narrated this to Mahesh Babu and announced that the film would go onto the floors, Puri’s poor track record then had become a major hurdle as Mahesh backed off from the film. Puri had also tried to do the same film with Venkatesh, but it also didn’t materialise. After delivering decent Paisa Vasool and a blockbuster iSmart Shankar, Puri is back in form. However, Puri has decided to go to Bollywood as he got vexed with Telugu stars. Puri’s ambitious Jana Gana Mana is still on paper and it may take a while to get materialised.

Also, Puri’s another ambitious project Auto Johnny with Chiranjeevi also didn’t take off. While Chiru was impressed and convinced till the first half, Chiru reportedly was not happy with the way the second half progressed. This Chiru spilled the beans to the media and these words have hurt Puri Jagan badly. However, Puri took these in his stride and hoping to do Auto Johnny with Chiru one day.

Gunasekhar – Hiranya Kashyapa

Critically acclaimed filmmaker Gunasekhar made a grand comeback with Anushka Shetty’s Rudhramadevi which also featured Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles. Rudhramadevi not just gave much needed success to Gunasekhar but also gave breather to his ambitious historic and mythological films. However, Gunasekhar’s dream project Hiranya Kashyapa based on the oppressive demon Hiranyakashipu which is planned in multiple languages hasn’t materialised so far.

Meanwhile, Gunasekhar has started his next Shakuntalam with Samantha Akkineni in the titular role. Sam will be seen as Sakuntala, the ethereal beauty who falls in love with Dushyanta. Even Shaakuntalam had its share of difficulties as Gunasekhar found it hard to get leading lady for the film. He had approached the likes of Pooja Hegde, Anushka Shetty, but eventually it was offered to Samantha. Hiranya Kashyapa which announced with Rana Daggubati as lead took the back seat. It is not clear when Gunasekhar’s ambitious Hiranya Kashyapa would take off.

Krishna Vamsi – Rythu

Krishna Vamsi might not be in great form. Yet for many actors and stars, he is still on the list of directors to work with. Vamsi had planned an ambitious Rythu for Nandamuri Balakrishna. Balayya was heavily impressed with Vamsi’s script and excited about the role. However, the film requires a special and powerful role which needs to be played by a legendary actor. Balakrishna wanted Amitabh Bachchan to play the role. Balayya and Krishna Vamsi met Amitabh Bachchan in Bombay. However, Amitabh had gently turned down the role. Balayya, who was adamant to have only Amitabh to play the role, has kept the film aside.Since then Rythu has been lying in the cans.

Prabhas To Take One Year Break?

Many actors in the industry are looking forward to taking breaks after working for back to back films. Now, even Prabhas has joined this list.

The actor is currently busy wrapping up Radhe Shyam, which is a Radha Krishna directorial, produced by UV Creations. The film has Pooja Hegde as the leading lady.

Besides Radhe Shyam, Prabhas has Om Raut directorial Adipurush, Prashanth Neel directorial Salaar and yet to be titled film by Nag Ashwin. All these films are being made under a huge budget and are pan India level films, being made in multiple languages.

Prabhas will take a year and a half to complete these films. Post that, he is looking forward to taking a break for a couple of years. Sources say that the actor has signed up three big films at a time because he wants to do as many films as he can and then take a break for a year or so.

Salaar was launched on the occasion of Kanuma. Post Radhe Shyam, Prabhas will begin shooting for Adipurush, then Nag Ashwin directorial and post that, he will work with Prashant.

This news of Prabhas taking a break might be heart breaking to all his fans.

Stylish Star and ‘Most Googled Telugu Star’ Allu Arjun is on cloud nine during the first anniversary celebration of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo the film which he calls it as a landmark and milestone in his career. Allu Arjun is modest in admitting that he got such industry blockbuster in career much much late compared to all other stars in the industry.

Naming Pawan Kalyan, NTR and Charan, Allu Arjun said Pawan got Kushi as his seventh film and NTR got Simhadri as his seventh film and his cousin Ram Charan got Magadheera as his second film, whereas Bunny admitted that he got such major success in his career only as his 19th film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Bunny said he got such a big hit only after 17 years of his film career. He said 2020 might be a worst year for the world, but he said it is best year for him and he shouldn’t complain about it.

Allu Arjun said Trivikram is more than a friend or Guru who shaped up his career. He said Trivikram is an elder brother to him and part of family. Allu Arjun said ‘double thank you’ to Thaman for delivering a 2 billion audio album. He thanked the who’s who of the AVPL team and thanked audience and media for the resounding success of the film. Allu Arjun wished all the Sankranthi releases of 2021 should do well and asked audience to watch the films in theatres with 50 percent occupancy. That’s one and only Stylish Star folks.

Ravi Teja’s Krack to have a sequel?

Mass Raja Ravi Teja is quite delighted as he is back to success track after years. His latest movie Krack that released recently is raking massive money at the box-office and the response has been unanimous. This is the third time Ravi Teja and Gopichand Malineni collaborated after Don Seenu and Balupu. During the end titles, the makers of the film hinted at a sequel for Krack.

 As per the update, the project will happen sometime next year once Ravi Teja completes his current projects. Gopichand Malineni too has a couple of other commitments and will focus on Krack 2 once he is done with these projects. An official announcement would be made at a later date once the scriptwork is completed. As of now, Ravi Teja is keen to work with Gopichand Malineni again.

Ram responds about his project with Trivikram Srinivas

Filmydust was the first to break the news that top director Trivikram Srinivas readied an interesting script for Ram and the discussions happened. But the project was put on hold as of now due to the commitments of Trivikram. Energetic Star Ram completed 15 years in Tollywood and his next film RED is hitting the screens for Sankranthi. The Energetic actor interacted with the media recently and responded about working with Trivikram Srinivas. 

He said that the project is under discussion stages and Ram is not sure about when the project starts rolling. Ram said that he would work with Trivikram Srinivas very soon. He also said that he has few scripts ready and he would announce them at the right time. As of now, Ram is the only Tollywood actor who is yet to sign his next film. He rejected a series of scripts and is extra cautious after the super success of Ismart Shankar. RED is carrying decent expectations and Ram is super confident on the film in which he essays dual roles.
